Aaron Nixon
Dr. Aaron Nixon was born and raised in Tecumseh, Ontario, and he has been involved in Pharmacy since he attended Belle River District High School and started working as a technician at a national pharmacy chain. He attended and graduated from Wayne State University with his Bachelor in Health Sciences and Doctor of Pharmacy degrees. Prior to opening Main Street Pharmacy and Wellness Centre here in beautiful Kingsville, he worked as a clinical pharmacist at Beaumont Hospital and University Pharmacy in Detroit Michigan.
He has a passion for education, spending time educating both patients and students. He has taught in several different courses at Wayne State University and has also obtained a Graduate Certificate in College and University Teaching from Wayne State University. Through his time in school, Aaron was involved in the Mu Omicron Pi chapter of Kappa Psi Pharmaceutical Fraternity Incorporated where he gained significant leadership experience as both an officer and chair of several committees.
He also served several terms on the Essex County Pharmacist Association Executive Board, as their membership coordinator. He has presented original research at the Federal Research Forum of the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists and has been a researcher on a clinical study, the paper for which has been published in the Journal of Clinical Pharmacology in Drug Development. His primary focus in pharmacy includes Patient Education, Diabetes, Travel Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. He has translated this passion for education into service for his community, providing education sessions at the Kingsville Community Centre on a monthly basis before the current Coronavirus Pandemic.
